On the morning of June 18, the “Civilized ‘Harvesting’ Light · Courtesy on Dragon Boat Festival” — Shaoxing City’s “Courtesy Ancient Trail” Xialv Station practical activity kicked off at the Liandong Village Cultural Hall in Xialv Town, Keqiao District. This event was guided by the Shaoxing Civilization Office, hosted by the Keqiao District Party Committee Publicity Department (Civilization Office), and organized by the Xialv Town People’s Government. Its aim was to use the Dragon Boat Festival as a link to integrate folk culture, ecological protection, and civilized practice, bringing the public a grand festival where ancient charm and new customs blend together.
The event was filled with a festive atmosphere, with cultural performances taking place one after another. The Yue opera “Legend of the White Snake: Love Story of the Sudden Changes on the Dragon Boat Festival” features delicate singing styles paired with elegant performances, telling folk stories in a gentle way; The playful dance “Writing Civility” uses light movements to interpret the meaning of civility and convey the original intention of goodness; The original poetry recitation “Li Sao: New Rhymes of Xia Li” blends ancient charm and expresses new voices, continuing the patriotic sentiments of the sages and showcasing the new look of Xia Li civilization. Diverse artistic forms skillfully blend traditional cultural heritage with the latest trends of the times, conveying the concept of virtue and kindness, earning rounds of applause.
Xialü Town, home to three distinctive ancient trails—Xiaoshao Ancient Trail, Yejiashan Ancient Trail, and Yuewangzheng—boasts tranquil forests and beautiful scenery, with exceptional ecological cultural tourism resources. In recent years, to restore the original appearance of the ancient trail with “clear mountains and waters, clean roads and beautiful scenery,” Xialü Town has continuously optimized service models and expanded civilized practice scenarios. From the initial warm-hearted “running lunch” meal delivery service to the dual approach of “green meal delivery + civilized travel,” it has gradually cultivated a unique local brand called “Shiguangzhi Shoes” with civilization practice characteristics.
The project centers on protecting the ancient trail’s ecology and promoting the concept of civilization, calling on participants to dedicate themselves to protecting greenery and keeping the mountains clean. At the same time, relying on the “Volunteer Keqiao” intelligent platform, it enables public welfare check-ins, points accumulation, and gift redemption, making civilized practices participatory, quantifiable, and sustainable.
At the event, three volunteer representatives took turns on stage to share their original intentions and reflections, recounting their personal experiences of protecting the forest, guarding the ancient trail, and practicing the spirit of volunteerism, vividly showcasing the precious qualities of grassroots volunteers who quietly persevere and selflessly dedicate themselves.
It is understood that after two years of deep cultivation, the “Footprints of Light” project has gathered over 400 regular volunteers and conducts more than 350 civilization practice activities annually, attracting local residents, tourists from various regions, and foreign friends to actively participate. This has made the “Courtesy Ancient Trail” of summer shoes a model of civilization practice in the new era that can be replicated, promoted, and regularly carried out. After the ceremony, participants walked along the Xiaoshao Ancient Trail and formed groups to carry out the “Shoes of Light” environmental protection campaign. They worked together, picking up trash, sorting and storing it, protecting green mountains and clear waters, and practicing the concept of civilized and low-carbon living. Meanwhile, the special Dragon Boat Festival market opened lively at the same time, with convenient services such as haircuts and health moxibustion being warmly implemented. Intangible cultural heritage handicrafts like mugwort sachets and qiaoguo, DIY zongzi wrapping, and local summer delicacies appeared in succession, allowing the public to experience the charm of traditional Dragon Boat Festival customs.
