Samtech UAV & Autonomous Systems Lab

Samtech UAV & Autonomous Systems Lab

UAV design, autonomous systems, industrial inspection and practical education

Samtech UAV & Autonomous Systems Lab, based in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, China, specializes in the design, development, and practical application of unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous systems, and drone-based industrial solutions.

The lab combines expertise in aerodynamics, aircraft design, embedded electronics, flight-control systems, sensors, automation, and rapid prototyping. Its work covers the complete engineering cycle—from concept development and system design to component integration, prototyping, testing, and field deployment.

Samtech’s principal activities include customized UAV development, VTOL aircraft, autonomous ground vehicles, drone-based thermal and industrial inspection, precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, and application-specific unmanned systems.

Samtech works with universities, schools, training organizations, researchers, and industrial clients to connect UAV research with real-world applications and hands-on technical learning.

Research and Development Directions

UAV Design and Development

Customized multirotor, VTOL, and application-specific UAV platforms, including airframe development, aerodynamic analysis, propulsion selection, flight-control integration, payload integration, prototyping, and flight testing.

Autonomous Systems and Robotics

Autonomous ground vehicles and robotic platforms integrating embedded controllers, navigation systems, sensors, remote monitoring, FPV technologies, and mission-specific automation.

Drone-Based Inspection and Monitoring

UAV, thermal-imaging, and sensing solutions for industrial inspection, building heat-loss analysis, solar-panel inspection, precision agriculture, mapping, and environmental monitoring.

Education and International Collaboration

UAV Education and Technical Training

Samtech develops modular drone kits, practical curricula, advanced UAV courses, and Train-the-Trainer programs. Its 75-hour Advanced Drone Course helps learners understand drone design, assembly, electronics, programming, mission planning, testing, and maintenance.

By combining technical instruction with direct access to real UAV systems, the lab helps learners move beyond basic operation toward system-level understanding, experimentation, and innovation.

International Partnerships

The lab supports cross-border cooperation with universities, training institutions, research organizations, and industry partners in UAV education, applied research, technology development, and knowledge exchange.
