International Workshop on Geospatial Intelligence and GeoAI, at Shaoxing University and Keqiao International Park

The International Workshop on “Geospatial Intelligence and its Future for Disaster Risk Reduction and Environmental Resilience: Enhancing Leadership” was successfully held from 15–17 December 2025 at the International Keqiao Park and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Shaoxing University. The three-day event brought together scholars, professionals, and students from 24 countries, participating both in person and online.

The workshop featured opening ceremonies, keynote speeches by distinguished international experts, and intensive hands-on training sessions focusing on GeoAI, social vulnerability assessment, flood susceptibility modeling, climate scenario analysis, and the Geospatial Infrastructure Management Ecosystem (GeoIME). Participants gained practical experience with advanced geospatial and artificial intelligence techniques for disaster risk reduction and environmental resilience.

The event was jointly supported by Shaoxing University, International Keqiao Park, Zhejiang-Saudi Arabia Joint Laboratory and co-organized by ISPRS ICWG III/IVa (Disaster Management). This event was co-sponsored by Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), GeoGPT Ltd., China, ECOCODE, Saudi Arabia, School of Geography (Nanjing Normal University), and GeoIME Inc., Canada, benefited from the strong collaboration of academic, industry, and international partners. In addition to technical training, the workshop fostered international cooperation, networking, and future collaboration opportunities.

 

The successful completion of this International Workshop highlights Shaoxing University’s growing role in promoting global capacity building, innovation, and leadership in geospatial intelligence and artificial intelligence for sustainable development.
