With over 20 years of experience in GaN epitaxy, chip development, and application product design, Jim Yang have contributed significantly to the advancement of the field through the formulation of several national and provincial standards. I hold 2 invention patents, more than 20 utility model patents, and over 10 software copyrights. Throughout my career, Jim Yang have led numerous major projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology’s 863 Program and key Shanghai Science and Technology R&D Projects. Jim Yang work has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Third Prize for Shanghai Science and Technology Progress, the Shanghai World Expo Honorary Medal, and the Third Prize for Excellent Technical Achievements in Shanghai Standardization.
In 2022, Jim Yang founded Shaoxing Shangrui Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. in Keqiao. The company was designated as a National High-Tech Enterprise in 2024. Jim Yang have since taken the lead in China’s GaN semiconductor laser sector, achieving a major breakthrough by developing a high-power blue laser chip with a single-beam optical output of 5W—a performance benchmark that ranks among the best globally. This technology has now entered the pilot and small-scale production phase, positioning us at the forefront of the industry’s innovation and commercialization efforts.
