On June 18, the “Yilian Shaoxing, Creating a Win Future—Biomedical Frontier Science Salon and International Joint Laboratory Construction Promotion Conference” was held at the Shaoxing Life and Health Industry Community. This event was jointly organized by Keqiao District of Shaoxing City, jointly organized by Shaoxing People’s Hospital, The Shaoxing Institute of Technology Innovation at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shaoxing Biopharmaceutical Innovation Center, and other top-tier medical institutions and research platforms. It is reported that this is also one of the key events in the fourth Keqiao District Talent Science and Innovation Week series.
A signing ceremony for the joint construction of the international joint laboratory was held on site, marking Shaoxing’s medical innovation and transformation work from the foundational stage of “building mechanisms and platforms” to a new stage of deepening development characterized by “strengthening cooperation and promoting breakthroughs.”
He Lingyan, Director of the Science and Education Department at Shaoxing People’s Hospital, introduced the construction of the International Joint Laboratory. She stated that this is a deep integration and restructuring of multinational advantageous resources. As one of the co-builders, Shaoxing People’s Hospital integrates medical care, teaching, research, elderly care, rehabilitation, and production. It will fully leverage this platform to explore new models for hospital innovation and development, conduct high-level research, and provide solid scientific and technological innovation support for extending, supplementing, and strengthening the life and health industry chain.
This salon centers on empowering innovation, connecting resources, and collaborating in collaboration. Through diverse formats such as open project roadshows, cutting-edge academic seminars, and precise supply-demand matching, it brings together top experts and research teams from home and abroad, precisely discovering high-quality cooperation projects suited to laboratory development, reserving high-end innovation resources, and building a long-term collaborative ecosystem.
During the keynote report session, top experts from Italy, France, Zhejiang University, Shaoxing University, and other institutions focused on cutting-edge areas such as AI+ new materials, RNA technology, intelligent sensing, and biodegradable implants, sharing their latest research findings.
Attendees stated that this salon fully demonstrated the distinctive characteristics of “medical-engineering collaboration, cross-national collaboration, and industry-university-research-medical collaboration.” It was not only about signing and promotion, but also about deep coupling of projects and talents, as well as precise matching of resources and needs.
