Foreign Talent’s Innovations Gain Wide Recognition

Samtech UAS Technologies Co., Ltd., based in the Zhejiang (Shaoxing) High-Level Foreign Experts Innovation Center, recently signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in Beijing with CBX’s Algeria and Cambridge branches to collaborate in unmanned aerial vehicles, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The agreements mark an important step in the company’s efforts to expand its technology onto the global stage.

Samtech was founded by Amar Missoum, an overseas talent from Algeria and a drone design expert with over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry. He previously contributed to the design of the Airbus A340-300 in the UK and has long specialized in fuselage design, drag reduction, and the study of cyclonic flow behavior.

In 2022, Missoum arrived in the Shaoxing Keqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone (Golden Keqiao Sci-Tech City) and, drawn by the open and inclusive entrepreneurial environment of the High-Level Foreign Experts Innovation Center, established Samtech UAS Technologies Co., Ltd.

Backed by over two decades of technical expertise, Missoum quickly capitalized on industry trends and embraced new entrepreneurial opportunities. With strong support from the Center, the company recently exported a batch of self-developed drones to the Oklahoma Aerospace Institute for Research and Education (OAIRE) at Oklahoma State University in the United States—representing a major milestone in turning R&D achievements into international market success.

Looking ahead, Missoum plans to further strengthen the company’s technological capabilities and broaden its global collaboration network, ensuring that more of its innovations make the leap from the laboratory to the global market.
