One of our recent interns, Aleksei Volkov from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia, joined the program to explore the future of 3D printing.

During his internship, Aleksei worked with a 3D printer to create parts with different internal structures, which were then tested for their mechanical properties. The project, proposed by a professor at Zhejiang University’s Department of Polymer Science and Technology, allowed him to explore how structural design affects physical and chemical performance.

Reflecting on his journey, Aleksei shared:

“This practice provided an excellent opportunity to evaluate my knowledge and skills in various scientific fields, meet new people, and explore the country’s culture. As a result, the month-long practice allowed me to experience what it means to be a researcher and start a project under the guidance of knowledgeable individuals.”

By the end of his internship, Aleksei not only broadened his horizons but also developed fresh ideas for his future projects, a true example of how this program empowers participants to grow both academically and personally.
