On April 22, the unveiling ceremony of the “Shaoxing Academician Workstation” led by Zhou Qifeng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former president of Peking University, was held at the International Scientists Innovation Center, Zhejiang(Shaoxing) High-Level Foreign Experts Innovation Center.Chen Hao, the Secretary of the Keqiao District Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a welcome speech, while Pan Xiaodong, the member of the Standing Committee of Keqiao District Committee and Director-General of Organization Department, presided over the ceremony.Wu Xiaodong, the Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, along with Guo Jiliang, the member of the Party Group and Secretary-General of the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, attended the event. Also present were Feng Guoqiang, the Party Group Secretary of the Shaoxing Science and Technology Association, Xu Songjie, Director of the Construction and Management Committee of Shaoxing Golden Keqiao Sci-Tech City (Zhejiang Shaoxing Talent Entrepreneurship Park), and Secretary of the Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Shaoxing Keqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone. These leaders attended and witnessed the event.Zhou Qifeng is a distinguished polymer chemist and educator, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking University and is the former president of Jilin University and Peking University. His extensive administrative roles have included Director of the Office of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and Director of the Graduate Work Office (Office of Degree Management and Graduate Education) at the Ministry of Education. He has also held the positions of Director of the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, Vice Secretary-General and member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and Director of the Office for the Inter-ministerial Coordination Group of the National “211 Project” and the “Ministry of Education-Ministry of Finance 985 Project” Office. In the scientific community, Zhou has been a standing committee member, vice director, and head of the Science Popularization and Education Committee of the Chemical Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He chaired the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Steering Committee for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering majors, and has been a member of the National Science and Technology Awards Committee. In professional societies, he served as Vice President and Supervisor of the Supervisory Board of the Chinese Chemical Society and Chair of the Polymer Science Committee. At the national level, he was a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People’s Congress and a member of its Education, Science, Culture, Health, and Sports Committee. Internationally, he has served as President of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), the world’s largest chemical organization.
