Deep Integration of Industry and Education, Creating the Future Together — Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages University held its 45th anniversary conference on industry-education integration and innovative development
On May 29, the 45th Anniversary Conference of Industry-Education Integration Innovation and Development of Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages University was successfully held. With the theme “Deep Integration of Industry and Education, Creating the Future Together—Embracing the Wave of Artificial Intelligence, Building a New Pattern of School-Enterprise Co-Education,” the conference featured heads from relevant provincial and municipal departments such as the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Shaoxing Municipal Education Bureau, Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Keqiao District Party Committee Organization Department, and Keqiao Association for Science and Technology, as well as corporate guests, alumni representatives, school-enterprise experts, leaders of the university’s party and administrative leadership, department heads, and representatives of teachers and students to jointly explore new paths for industry-education integration and talent cultivation in the AI era. The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by Luo Jihong, Party Secretary of the university.
Opening ceremony speech
Zhu Lianwen, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Division of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He pointed out that Zhejiang is currently building a modern industrial system with Zhejiang characteristics centered on artificial intelligence. To promote industry-driven educational reform and talent-driven industrial upgrading, the Provincial Department of Education continues to improve the policy system for industry-education integration and vigorously advances the construction of modern industry colleges. Yuexiu is taking the opportunity of its 45th anniversary to hold the Conference on Industry-Education Integration Innovation and Development, which is timely and fitting. He hopes the university will further align with national strategies and clarify the direction of talent cultivation; further deepen industry-education integration and innovate collaborative education models; and further strengthen technological empowerment to improve the quality of talent cultivation.
President Yong Heming delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, reviewing the school’s 45-year development journey and the achievements in industry-education integration and school-local-university-enterprise cooperation. He stated that the university has always moved in step with regional economic and social development, forging a distinctive path of school-local symbiosis, school-enterprise win-win, and industry-education prosperity. Facing the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the accelerating pace of enterprise globalization, industry-education integration has moved from “simple addition” to “deep integration,” bringing unprecedented opportunities for school-enterprise cooperation. The Industry-Education Integration Development Conference is an important event celebrating our university’s 45th anniversary. The university will take this conference as an opportunity to adhere to development strategy guidance and further improve on the “summit”; adhere to industry demand orientation and deepen its “positioning”; Adhere to integrity and innovation, making further breakthroughs in ‘integration’; Persist in sharing, co-creation, and win-win outcomes, and make further efforts in ’empowerment.’
The provincial-level industrial college was inaugurated
At the meeting, the AI Digital Trade Provincial Key Modern Industry College was officially inaugurated. Ma Chengyong, a second-level investigator from the Shaoxing Municipal Education Bureau, Huang Tao, Deputy Director of the Shaoxing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Zhao Guomiao, General Manager of Alibaba’s Zhejiang Region, and Chen Wentao, Vice President of Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages College, jointly unveiled it. The “AI Digital Trade Industry College” has been approved as a key modern industry college supported by Zhejiang Province, aiming to build a talent hub that integrates AI, foreign languages, and trade. Through school-enterprise collaboration and the mutual growth of industry and education, it aims to cultivate practical, versatile, and international talents who understand AI, speak foreign languages, and excel in digital trade, while exploring the “Yuexiu model” of integrating industry and education, contributing to regional economic and social development.
Schools and local enterprises jointly sign a cooperation agreement
At the meeting, Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages College established a collaborative innovation partnership with Shaoxing Jinkeqiao Science and Technology City Management Committee and the Shaoxing Keqiao District Association for Science and Technology. The three parties will leverage the Zhejiang (Shaoxing) Foreign High-end Talent Innovation Cluster, deepen integration of industry, academia, and research, share expert and academic resources, co-develop international courses, set up internship and entrepreneurship platforms, build various science and innovation platforms, and actively explore creating an international talent service system.
At the meeting, a cooperation agreement for industry-education integration was also signed. Gao Zhidong, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages College, signed the agreement on behalf of the school with Zhejiang NHU Co., Ltd., Alibaba (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd., Hailiang Group Co., Ltd., iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Put Education Consulting Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Gaolian Holding Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Hexin Tonghuashun Network Information Co., Ltd., Ningbo Sail Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Ruifu Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Balute Garments Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Zhechuang Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Yuanyang Kempinski Hotel, and other units.
The conference also held a ceremony to appoint industry professors, hiring 10 industry experts as industry professors.
Keynote Report
During the keynote session, focusing on the strategic backdrop of “business going global,” and centering on building industry-education collaboration mechanisms, innovating university-enterprise cooperation models, and promoting advanced experiences, Wang Mengjie, Deputy General Manager of Alibaba International Station in Zhejiang, spoke on “AI AGENT Era: The Right Time for OPC Going Global.” Li Zhenke, General Manager of the Data Development Division at Tonghuashun Data Development Co., Ltd., shared on “Smart Finance, Nurturing the Future Together: Tonghuashun’s AI Fintech Exploration and Talent Ecosystem Practice.” The keynote session was hosted by Guo Jie, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Yuexiu Foreign Languages College.
Roundtable Discussion
During the roundtable discussion, industry and academic experts including Zhang Liying, Vice President of NHU Co., Ltd.; Zhou Minzhang, General Manager of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in Shaoxing; Feng Diyang, Founder and Chairman of Hangzhou Puter Education Consulting Co., Ltd.; Shan Shengjiang from the Digital Trade College of Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages; Zheng Hailong, Deputy General Manager of Guosen Securities Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Branch; and Lv Yong, Chairman of Zhejiang Balute Garments Co., Ltd., had an in-depth discussion on the theme “Deep Integration of Schools and Enterprises, Jointly Cultivating ‘Smart + Global’ Talent — How to Go from ‘Addition’ to ‘Integration’.” They shared insights and built common understanding to provide practical guidance for schools to deepen industry-education integration.
45th Anniversary Celebration Event Announcement
The 45th anniversary series of events was officially announced at the event. At the same time, outstanding alumni were recognized, with 12 alumni, including Zhao Wei, Zhang Xiaojun, Zeng Xian, Jiang Jianqin, Wu Liyun, Xu Peijun, Feng Diyang, Wu Jun, Wei Fanghao, Chen Zhi, Li Binbin, and Yang Zhenhong, receiving honors.
Forty-five years of continuous teaching and learning, and now industry-education integration starts a new chapter. This conference is not only an important tribute to the school’s 45th anniversary but also a key move to deepen school-enterprise collaboration and serve local development. The school will take this conference as an opportunity to seize the opportunities brought by AI development, continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, and build a new pattern of joint cultivation between schools and enterprises, contributing Yuexiu’s strength to regional high-quality development and the building of a strong education nation.
