Deepening transnational education and sharing of talents|UNISA-JAR Joint Cooperation Inauguration Ceremony was successfully held

 

On October 17, the UNISA-JAR Joint Cooperation Inauguration Ceremony, hosted by the Science Technology Bureau of Shaoxing and the People’s Government of Keqiao District, Shaoxing, and organized by the Keqiao District Party Committee Organization Department, the District Science and Technology Bureau, and the Construction and Management Committee of Shaoxing Golden Keqiao Sci-Tech City, was held at the Zhejiang (Shaoxing) High Level Foreign Experts Innovation Center.

 

 

This event aims to deepen international cooperation and promote technological innovation. Attendees included Zhang Xuming, Deputy Director of the Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department, as well as Deputy Director of the Provincial Foreign Experts Bureau,  Over 20 foreign experts participated, including Professor Thenjiwe Meyiwa, Vice-Principal of the University of South Africa, and Professor Bhekie Mamba, a member of the South African Academy of Sciences.

 

 

At the conference, University of South Africa leadership signed a cooperation agreement in the field of engineering with representatives from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and an International Talent Project Seed Fund cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Dongsheng Huigu Investment Development Co., Ltd.. University representatives also awarded the park the plaques for the “Unisa -JAR Partner – Zhejiang (Shaoxing) High Level Foreign Experts Innovation Center Joint Innovation Center Laboratories” and the “University of South Africa Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Development Station,” further enhancing the platform’s reputation as a “golden brand” for international collaboration. Additionally, a ceremony was held for the appointment of “International Talent Exchange Ambassadors,” along with the unveiling of the “International Cooperation and Exchange Base for Scientific and Technological Talent.”

 

 

From October 14 to 21, the University of South Africa delegation and Keqiao District engaged in a series of activities focused on showcasing scientific achievements, fostering innovation cooperation, and holding academic discussions. These activities included technology exhibitions, innovation collaboration meetings, academic reports, panel discussions, and university visits, covering topics such as the establishment of the Sino-South African Innovation Center, the advancement of digital projects, an international seminar on artificial intelligence, and the joint training of young PhD students. China-Africa cooperation is advancing with the times, improving in quality, and showing broader prospects and a brighter future. The successful hosting of the UNISA- JAR Joint Cooperation Inauguration Ceremony not only fully showcased the wide-ranging potential of their collaboration but also injected new vitality into regional technological innovation and talent development. Looking ahead, both sides will continue to work hand in hand, writing a new chapter in international scientific and technological cooperation.
