On the evening of September 27, experts from the park were invited to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to attend a reception for foreign experts celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The following are Mr. Jean-Guy’s reflections on attending the reception:
A reception at the Great Hall of the People of Beijing, organized by the Beijing Government to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China provided an excellent opportunity for talents to participate in an event. The participants from various provinces were invited, and I had the chance to engage in activities celebrating this milestone.
We began with an expert seminar at the Friendship Palace of the Beijing Friendship Hotel. During this seminar, several speakers shared their experiences and insights regarding their work and developments in Zhejiang Province. In the afternoon, we attended an impressive meeting at the Great Hall of the People, where H.E. Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, warmly welcomed the experts and their families, offering his thoughts and encouraging wishes for China’s continued development. A highlight of the event was the emphasis on the importance of international collaboration and the valuable role foreign experts play in China’s progress. It provided a unique opportunity to engage with policymakers and reconnect with several foreign experts working in Zhejiang and other provinces.
In conclusion, the event allowed me to promote the Park through new contacts across various scientific domains. This “cross-domain” meeting was vital for fostering connections and discovering new development opportunities. It was a pleasure to meet talented individuals and colleagues, exchange contacts, and make new friends.
Lastly, regarding the organization of the travel: thank you for the honor of inviting us to such an important event and allowing us to participate in the 75th anniversary celebration of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China! The event was excellently organized, and we felt cared for and attended to throughout the trip.
