Shareen Shafique profile

Dr. Shareen Shafique

Keqiao Talent

Dr. Shareen Shafique is a distinguished researcher specializing in the development of high-performance optoelectronic devices, with a particular focus on self-powered photodetectors for optical communication and wearable health monitoring systems. She earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (QS rank 46) from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2019, following her M.S. in Nanotechnology from the University of the Punjab. With extensive postdoctoral experience at Ningbo University and a strong integration into China’s research ecosystem as a Ningbo High-level Talent, she is at the forefront of advancing next-generation optoelectronics technologies.

Her research work focuses on integrating AI models into wearable healthcare monitoring devices for 24-hour continuous monitoring to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events and other health complications. Her expertise spans perovskite and quantum dot photodetectors, 2D material integration, specializing in the integration of 2D materials into lead-free perovskites, and advanced interface engineering. She has an approximate impact factor of 300 across more than 37 publications in high-impact journals, including Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Nano Energy. She also received the honor award in the Keqiao Talent: 3rd Young PhD Talent Acceleration Camp 2026 for Overseas Doctorates, successfully held on April 24th, 2026 in Keqiao. With a strong foundation in advanced fabrication and characterization techniques, coupled with a vision for sustainable technology, she bridges the gap between theoretical innovation and practical optoelectronic device implementation.
