Dr. Sohail Yasin

Keqiao Talent

Dr. Sohail Yasin is a materials scientist and high-level foreign expert recognized by the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts. He earned his dual Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in 2016 and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the University of Lille (France) in 2018. His international research journey includes a Commonwealth Rutherford fellowship at Heriot-Watt University in the UK, after which he joined Zhejiang University in 2019 under the esteemed China Talent Program. He transitioned from a high-level postdoctoral fellow to a full-time Foreign Expert Researcher at Zhejiang University, demonstrating a sustained commitment to China’s academic and scientific ecosystem.
Dr. Yasin’s research centers on polymer processing, sustainable polymer materials, nanocomposites’ nonlinear viscoelasticity, life cycle assessment (LCA) with a focus on end-of-life (EOL) issues, and sustainable recycling of vulcanized materials. He has published more than 70 SCI-E papers, with over two thousand citations on Google Scholar, and has actively contributed to multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, where he secured grants as Principal Investigator (PI). His work bridges fundamental material network engineering with practical solutions for polymer processing and green chemistry. With over a decade of engagement in China since 2011, he is deeply committed to long-term scientific innovation in the country, aiming to advance sustainable energy materials while fostering international research collaboration and mentoring the next generation of scientists.
