Mr. Maurizio Gargano
Exchange Technician
Mr. Maurizio Gargano has been working as a Technician at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) since 2021. His scientific career began in 2010 in a biochemistry research laboratory at Sapienza University of Rome, where he developed expertise in gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC‑MS) and enzymology.
Between 2016 and 2021, he continued his professional growth in the private sector, serving as an R&D specialist and application specialist, with a focus on the development of colorimetric and enzymatic assays for automated spectrophotometric systems applied to various matrices, including blood, water, and wine and providing technical support and training to a wide range of users. Dr. Gargano holds a Bachelor’s degree in Prevention Techniques in the Environment and Workplace and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from Sapienza University of Rome. At the IIT Rome laboratory he is part of the Technical Office, where he integrates his scientific background with his Health & Safety expertise contributing to the reliability, safety, and operational continuity of the institute’s research infrastructure, supporting the effective functioning of the scientific environment.
