Dr. Marco Ricci is a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), widely regarded as the most important research center in Italy. Since 2019, he has dedicated his research efforts to lithium-ion and next-generation batteries, technologies he believes hold the power to build a more sustainable future for all. With a multidisciplinary background in materials science, Dr. Ricci approaches batteries as complex systems where chemistry, physics, and engineering intersect. His research aims to push beyond the limits of current technologies, empowering greener energy production, storage, and utilization.. He has authored ten publications across the wide landscape of energy storage, spanning physical chemistry, innovative negative electrodes, lithium\u2013sulfur batteries, zero-excess lithium-metal batteries, high-voltage systems, and sustainable materials and production methods.<\/p>

Driven by curiosity and an international spirit, Dr. Ricci has cultivated collaborations that span countries and continents. In 2023, he joined the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) for three months, an experience that not only led to two joint publications but also laid the foundation for long-lasting scientific partnerships. Among these, his collaboration with Professor Paolella, now at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, has already produced three publications and continues to flourish. His international outreach also extends to the United States, where he engaged Professor Klaus Schmidt-Rohr of Brandeis University in a shared investigation of lithium-ion battery thermodynamics. This exchange of ideas, born from Dr. Ricci\u2019s initiative, captured the professor\u2019s interest and has already resulted in a joint publication.<\/p>

Looking to the future, Dr. Ricci is committed to strengthening scientific bridges between Italy and China. He is currently advancing collaborations in China as an R&D engineer at KnowLiTech Co. Ltd. and as a partner of Professor Jun Zhang\u2019s group at Zhejiang University of Technology. These endeavors are made possible thanks to the generous support of JAR Partner and Keqiao International Park.
