Antonia Maria Tulino<\/h1>

Researcher in signal processing and computing communication networks\u00a0<\/p>

Antonia Maria Tulino has been engaged in the research of signal processing and computing communication networks for more than 20 years at the University of Naples Federico II in Italy, New York University in the United States, Nokia Bell Labs and other institutions. At the same time, she is the director of the first national research institute in the field of 5G in Italy. She has undertaken more than 10 national projects in Italy and the National Science Foundation of the United States, with a total project funding of more than 100 million euros. She has achieved fruitful results, publishing 278 papers, including 22 papers in the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory journal, 136 papers in other IEEE series journals, participating in the writing of 6 books and chapters, more than 10 authorized patents, H index of 53, and more than 13,000 citations.<\/p>

Antonia M. Tulino received her Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Seconda Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli, Italy, in 1999. She held research positions at Princeton University, at the Center for Wireless Communications, Oulu, Finland, and at Universita’ degli Studi del Sannio, Benevento, Italy. From 2002 she has joined the Faculty of the Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli \u201cFederico II,\u201d and in 2009 she joined Bell Labs. Since 2011, she has been a member of the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. She has received several paper awards, among the others the 2009 Stephen O. Rice Prize in the Field of Communications Theory for the best paper published in IEEE Transactions on Communications in 2008. She has been principal investigator of several research projects sponsored by the European Union and the Italian National Council, and was selected by the National Academy of Engineering for the Frontiers of Engineering program in 2013.
